Tributes & Praises

It is what it is...my gift to God and Man...oh and Women too...

Daily tribute via Psalms

My tribute to Psalm 118 specifically verse 24...

A game for God...I've been trying to find a fun way to incorporate some day to day things into my life that pay a tribute to God and his great works.  So what I've come up with is from Psalm 118 verse 24 "This is the day which the LORD hath made we will rejoice and be glad in it."(Depending on translation).  We all know that days can be long drawn out and sometimes just beat us down to the core.  The greatest of men and women regardless status and stature go through these kind of trying times its simply a fact of life outside the garden and removed from God's presence.  Now Luke and Matthew both have parables of multiplying monies given from masters to servants, but the parables can also be seen as multiplying gifts for God from the gift of life to what you are able to give back to God when your time on earth is done.  So why not go to your bag of gifts and show your God a way to glorify his word and pay tribute to him with a gift that allows you to rejoice in the day that he has created.  As part of my tribute I pick something everyday to smile about.  Some days it is the same some days it is different.  Now when I come across that thing during the day I smile and repeat the Psalm verse in my head or if no one is near I'll take the chance and say it aloud.  I play this game with a few of my friends and loved ones as a way to fulfill the “we will rejoice and be glad in it” section of the Psalm.  We share with each other what we have chosen to rejoice in and we become closer as friends and build a bond together serving a tribute to the Lord.

Paul speaks in first Corinthians 9:24 of running a race “Do you know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”  Our daily lives are filled with so many things that can take away the simple joys of life.  Why not make it a point to add something to our daily race to that glorifies God and his works.
